If a Scottsdale golf trip has a bucket-list course, it’s this one. The Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale is the PGA TOUR’s annual host for the WM Phoenix Open, the tour’s best-attended event by a wide margin, and the course most first-time visitors ask for by name before they ask about anything else on the itinerary.
It’s a genuinely tough, exposed desert-stadium design from Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish, reworked by Weiskopf again in 2014, and it plays every bit as demanding as its reputation. The facility also has a second 18, the Champions Course, which is a friendlier round at a meaningfully lower price if your group wants two days at the same address.
What TPC Scottsdale Is Known For
Everything starts with the par-3 16th, “The Coliseum”: a hole fully enclosed by stadium-style grandstands that hold over 20,000 fans during tournament week and earn it the nickname “the loudest hole in golf.” It’s where Tiger Woods made his famous ace in 1997, and it’s where most groups take their photo, even outside tournament week. A new four-story hospitality structure at the 16th debuts for the 2026 WM Phoenix Open (Feb 2-8), an amenity upgrade, not a change to the hole itself.
Away from the 16th, the Stadium Course is a genuine test: desert-stadium mounding, forced carries, and greens built to hold tournament-week TV drama, which also means they hold up to a hard-hit approach shot from a single-digit handicap. It’s not the most forgiving round on our roster, and it’s not meant to be.
Green Fees & When to Play
TPC Scottsdale prices dynamically by date and tee time, like almost every course in the Valley, so there’s no single fixed rate. Here’s the realistic range:

How to Play TPC Scottsdale With Scottsdale Luxury Golf
TPC Scottsdale is part of the championship course network we build trips around. Getting There & On-Course Logistics
TPC Scottsdale sits at 17020 N Hayden Rd, about 14-20 minutes from Old Town Scottsdale depending on where your group is staying, roughly 30 minutes from Sky Harbor.
A forecaddie is mandatory and complimentary from mid-November through mid-April (plan on a $40-50 gratuity per player); outside that window it’s standard cart golf. Dress is collared shirts and golf shoes, no denim.

Yes. It's a public-access, daily-fee facility, no membership required, though tee sheets fill fast in peak season since it's the WM Phoenix Open host course.
How far in advance do you need to book?

Stadium Course or Champions Course?

Is TPC Scottsdale worth it for a bachelor party or group trip?
For a bucket-list group, yes. It's the most recognizable name on any Scottsdale itinerary, and playing the 16th with a group is the kind of thing that gets talked about for years.
